Tolkien mini-talk at Dowling College Library

Tomorrow, I will be preceding Dr. Bill Indick’s presentation “Archetypal symbols in ancient myths, folktales, nursery stories, and fairy tales of the Middle Ages are the blueprints of modern fantasy literature.” My talk will be an overview of my research J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings with an emphasis on the use of humor to create believable secondary worlds. The event, originally scheduled for Wednesday, should kick off at 4 p.m. Tuesday, the 21st. All are welcome.
